FILMMAKER

PRODUCER - DIRECTOR - WRITER - EDITOR

JACK OF ALL TRADES, ACE IN THE HOLE

I have worn many hats on many different sets in my career. From production assistant to producer, from grip to gaffer, from assistant camera to director of photography, from writer, to editor, to director, I have played many roles throughout my time and occasionally won an award or two.

THE RESPONSE PROJECT

Great Music, Great Locations

The Response Project is a commissioning initiative that asks composers and artists to create new music (usually for the piano) and new works (of many disciplines) in response to a preexisting artwork or idea. Traditionally the project was presented in a live performance, however the 2020 pandemic brought about new opportunities to present such an endeavor. I was brought in to work as a producer, cinematographer, grip, and all around do anything anyone else was too busy to do on set kind of guy.

During this project we got to film on location in some of the best kept secrets of Cincinnati. From the towering Emery Hall, to the once regal Imperial Theater, to the depths of the winding brewery tunnels, uninhabited churches and finally the legendary King Records recording studio, we filmed and recorded live performances in unique and beautiful places.

This project was a massive team effort that came together beautifully and truly showcases the power of video production as an art form.

All the videos are hosted on the The Response Projects webpage. Check them all out!

48hr FILM CHALLENGES:

Two day deadlines? No problem.

A character name, a line, and prop walk into a bar, you have 48 hours to make a film including them. Starting in college I have participated in almost as many 48 hour films, as there are genres of movies.

There is nothing more exciting than the coffee fueled controlled chaos that comes withe the creation of a 48hr film. Calling in favors, getting friends to dress up in costumes and the joy of problem solving on set.

The best part of the end of an exhausting weekend is you have completed project that you can be proud of.
